The Vampire Diaries hunk Paul Wesley has revealed starring alongside his wife is «phenomenal».
The TV star’s other half Torrey DeVitto joined the cast of the hit US show this year as Meredith Fell, with Paul playing leading man Stefan Salvatore.
Paul said of working with Torrey: «I think it’s phenomenal. At first I was apprehensive about it but after being on the show for three seasons and being thousands of miles apart it is actually very fortunate. It’s good for learning lines too!»
He added: «We all get along great. Everybody in the cast is great, and now my wife is on the show, it’s wonderful, it’s like summer camp.»
While playing a vampire has led to comparisons with Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson, Paul insisted The Vampire Diaries was very different to the hit film franchise.
«When I first read the script of The Vampire Diaries I thought, ‘Ok, they’re trying to ride the wave of Twilight’. And I’m sure the show came out initially because Twilight was such a success, but at this point The Vampire Diaries has become its own little franchise.
«And really the two pieces, Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, are incongruent, they don’t follow. To be honest with you I’ve never seen Twilight.»
Paul, 30, admitted he wasn’t sure how much longer the show will last.
«Our contracts are for six (series, so technically there can only be three more seasons, or there could be 10 if we decide we want to do more. I just don’t know how it’s going to pan out. For now I’ll just ride the wave.»
